Can any of the LPGA Tour’s former top female golfers make a comeback in 2012? Three LPGA players to watch during the 2012 LGPA Tour are Paula Creamer, Juli Inkster and Michelle Wie. These are not the best female golfers right now, but they have been among the finest PGA Players. Can Creamer, Inkster and Wie return to their former places among female golfers?
Paula Creamer
Paula Creamer joined the other LPGA golfers in 2005, when she turned 18. Creamer won eight LGPA events in her first four years competing against LPGA players. However, Paula Creamer has won only once in the past three seasons. A thumb injury and other issues set her back. As the 2012 LPGA Schedule begins, Creamer says, “I’m growing up. I’m learning a lot.” If she has learned to overcome adversity, Paula Creamer could once again be among the top female golfers on the LPGA Tour.
Juli Inkster
Juli Inkster is a veteran among the LPGA players. On the 2012 LPGA Tour, she will turn 52. If Inkster were to win a 2012 LPGA event, she would be the oldest LPGA winner in history. Juli Inkster has finished first among the world’s top female golfers 31 times, but her last LPGA victory was six years ago. Can she pull off one more victory? Most people will be watching the young, rising female golfers. Yet, Juli Inkster is a veteran PGA player, who fans should also watch.
Michelle Wie
Michelle Wie has not fulfilled expectations of being one of the best female golfers. After she won the Women’s Amateur Public Links at 13 years old, expectations were high. Wie received many endorsements and played men’s events, before competing solely against female golfers. Wie will be graduating from Standford this May. This will be her first year not balancing academics and golf. When focusing solely on the 2012 LPGA Tour, can Michelle Wie prove she is one of the top LPGA players?
As the 2012 LPGA Schedule unfolds, which of the world’s top female golfers will exceed expectations? Paula Creamer, Juli Inkster and Michelle Wie could all be among the top LPGA players again.
