The big question on Valentine’s Day was, “Chocolate or flowers?” In other words, what is the best way to celebrate the special day with your beloved? If professional athletes are any indication, it seems there is not a specific way to celebrate.
Here’s what five professional athletes did on Valentine’s Day:
Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian
Khloe Kardashian let Lamar Odom, an NBA player with the Dallas Mavericks, off easy this Valentine’s Day. She said they just planned on “taking it easy and relaxing.” They were looking forward to spending quality time together, enjoying each other’s company. Khloe Kardashian told a fan, “Every day, Lamar treats me like it’s Valentine’s Day.” Apparently, Lamar Odom is a romantic at heart.
Kevin Youkilis and Julie Brady
The big question everyone’s asking Kevin Youkilis of the Boston Red Sox is, “Why didn’t you wait until Tuesday?” Kevin Youkilis and Julie Brady celebrated Valentine’s Day early this year, when they became engaged. Had he waited for Valentine’s Day, Youkilis would have had a ring for the occasion.
Chivas Soccer Players
Chivas, a soccer team, did not plan a romantic Valentine’s Day celebration. However, fans still wanted to see the team’s players on Feb. 14, as they unveiled a new uniform. Many couples get dressed up for the occasion, so what better day to dress up a soccer team?
Randy Moss and ?
On Mut & Merloni, a radio show, Randy Moss was asked what his plans were this year for Valentine’s Day. He said he would be attending an NBA game that evening alone. Since he was dateless, Randy Moss invited the host to come along. Unfortunately, the host already had plans.
Marko Jaric and Adriana Lima
The specific plans of Marko Jaric, a former NBA player with the Clippers, Timberwolves and Grizzlies, were unknown. Yet, fans can surmise that he and his wife, Adriana Lima, outdid most other couples on Valentine’s Day. When asked what would be her ideal Valentine’s gift would be like, Adriana Lima replied, “Very elegant, very thoughtful, very romantic.” She hinted at roses, hugs, and kisses, but none could top the couple’s favorite Valentine’s Day. Three years ago on Feb. 14 they each said, “I do.”
When it comes to Valentine’s Day, professional athletes aren’t very different from the fans who follow them. Some couples simply enjoy time together, while others plan a big date. Even some of the pros, like Chivas’ players, have to work on Valentine’s Day.
No matter what they did for Valentine’s Day, these couples enjoyed Feb. 14.
